As for Vanguard, basically, the YGO R mangaka teamed up with Bushiroad (the card game company which produces Weiss Schwarz which is basically designed for INSANE game balance because if they made any one card useless fans would kill them) and produced a new franchise. It's a very weird card game in that rather than specific card types (monsters/spells/traps or creature/spell divisions like in YGO or Duel Masters), there's only one basic card type (units), and the idea is leading an army into battle. An army of cutesy puppies and knights or giant warlord dragons or mecha, mind you.

I love it to death though. Like I said, if you have time to watch the anime and card games are your thing, worth checking out X3

Haha, wow. I don't blame you for losing track, 5Ds started strong and then promptly did a swan dive into fail lake sometime around the forty-episode mark, and ZeXal is freakishly annoying. If you need a Card game anime, Vanguard is ridiculously fun, on the other hand, and also happens to be pretty much tempting the slash shipper in us all to pounce on Aichi/Kai.

Er... deconverted from fundamentalist christianity, confessed to my best friend even though he was in a committed relationship already, learned YGO better, wrote a fanfic, discontinuing it to write the cast in a Vanguard fanfic because DAMN YOU SILENT X, and became politically liberal.

If you end up coming back anytime soon, I finished Canaan last week. Feels like so long ago after the weekend stuffing of Black Lagoon. And now with that done, I'm working to catch up with the currently airing series Rainbow (which is not as fabulous~ as the name implies). Sheesh, all these seinen series make me feel so grown up, which is ironic in that they're all still cartoons.

Yeah, I don't think Asian politics will exactly be the living conversation of a party. ^^;; What kind of animes would you think about looking into? Series like Canaan?

I know what you mean. Either you completely grow out of anime or you're stuck looking for the right anime to whet your appetite. I can't watch kiddy anime anymore, to a degree. If I watch or read anything relatively childish, it's usually a fantasy and it has a story and characters I can like. But otherwise, I need something relatively mature. Like recently I've watched Akagi and Kaiji, both of which are gambling series by the same author originally. Both are twisted and are set in the underworld side of gambling.

I haven't heard of Canaan, but now that you mention and that I look at the synopsis, I'll check it out too. Now that finished Akagi and Kaiji, I'm in need of more completed animes to take up the time I wait for new episodes of my currently airing series.

Why were you at a Chinese Immersion camp? And if I may ask, why the trip to Europe?

It's true that our society tends to shun the people or things that don't meet their standards. It's a horrible fact that may never change. Being a yaoi fan and a yuri appreciator, I'm pretty much open minded about the whole thing.
My only pet peeve is the portraying of some characters. Recently I discussed with an acquittance on how yuri is viewed as a sexist thing. Sometimes people don't want character developement, just the typical cliches and the steryotypes. I know that in some stories this is canon, like "Okane Ga Nai".
But in another case, Gravitation has the effeminate uke and the handsome seme but both characters have personality and developement in their relationship with each passing chapter.

Loveless is one shonen-ai that I consider unique when compared to other titles. It not only has a contrversial pairing but it also deals with other trumas and not just the hardships of love. This reminds me, I have to get back to reading it again.

Hm, a male member who likes yaoi. Not a lot of guys would say that but it doesn't matter. I think yaoi is just as opened to guys as yuri is to girls. You seem like a very honest person too.
