Takei's art in the new ending chapters in the Kang Zeng Bang releases looks startlingly different to his style back in the original run, yeah. Very beautiful though. And Hiroyuki Takei's middle name is Gimmyfinger.
    2. Ryusaki
Heh, MankinTrad's been translating the very short little extras that come with the new, cheaper Shaman King reprint volumes. You might like the latest one, it's Faust. Gotta love how Takei turned this 'Theo' character who was clearly just an early design for Faust into a different character in the Kang Zeng Bang character files and now gave him actual dialogue. 5D's, are you listening? That's how retconning is done.

Ditto. I think mine would be 18 and 19. Though, it's been long since I last watched TAS...

It totally does. It reaches as far as Zexal, because Shark's got to be his FABULOUS disciple, or someone who tried to emulate his FABULOUSness. Because dayum, that getup. And that hair.
    4. Ryusaki
Not really sure how he'd justify hanging around anyway. "Yeah, I just came from the moon" isn't exactly going to insert him into Shinji's life the way he did in episode 24. It may be strange, but it sure gives Eva fans a lot to scrutinise. Although I don't think anyone would've guessed that the shot of needles creating ice was a brand new angel made out of a compass and a Newton's cradle.
    5. Ryusaki
Lol, it'll be all Kaworu and then the movie will actually have less screentime for him than the trailer. The 2.0 trailer did a pretty good job at making it seem as if 2.0 would actually be the same as the TV series; they won't be able to fool us like that with 3.0.
    6. Arynis
Absolutely. No wonder he said that line in TAS... "You were the second most beautiful person I'd ever laid eyes on. The first was me of course." :cm:

Obviously, he needs ALL the FABULOUS. All of it. It causes crazy androids from the distant future to hunt him down, because he radiates so much damn FABULOUS.
    7. Arynis
Oh dear, I've just seen a page of a doujinshi where Shadi turns Pegasus into a woman who very much looks like Cyndia.

...Well, I suppose that confirms my observation that the two look similar. *groan*
    8. Ryusaki
Can't wait for the standard tantalising Fly Me to the Moon trailer. I'm sure there'll be lots of ******** before that though. It's not as if I've come to expect speed from Sadamoto's manga, so it's not too hard to deal with the slow release schedule.
    9. Ryusaki
Rei's original dub voice made her ridiculously cryptic dialogue sound reasonable. That is an impressive feat. At least Ritsuko says "It's the end of the world" rather than the old inexplicable "The world ends."

Sorry, I shouldn't have reminded you. On the plus side, maybe Q will come out next year. Or the year after. I think Sadamoto said he was going to do some more manga chapters soon. The manga's really hitting an interesting point now.
    10. Ryusaki
Definitely agreed on Gendo and Rei. I heard that Gendo's VA refused to work with ADV again. Rei's voice actor was perfect in the original dub (well, the Platinum dub anyway. I'm not sure if there's much difference but I'm pretty sure the original dub is way worse), and I'll never understand the complaints against her. It's weird hearing lots of famous Eva lines get more realistic and colloquial translations in the Rebuild dubs, but I guess it's for the best. Gendo's 'sou ka' sure has meant a hell of a lot across the whole franchise XD.
    11. Ryusaki
At least the Rebuild trailers are a little above some of the older Eva movie trailers you see, which are basically classical music with incomprehensible text on the screen. They make Donnie Darko look like summer blockbuster material.
    12. Ryusaki
Sweet, look forward to feeling ambivalent :D

Neither movie deigns to actually explain what it's about in the trailer. Eva makes money but didn't Donnie Darko learn after bombing the first time?
    13. Arynis
      Yeah, let's wait.

I hope you are right on your hunch! A backup would be a true lifesaver.
    14. Arynis
Ditto, that's what I thought as well. I looked up the site months ago, but even then it was blank. That's when I thought it may have been temporarily unavailable, but given how it looks now...

That said, the Wiki used to pop up in Google searches before. Now I'm not getting anything. Some scarce pages pop up, but they all come up as blank. According to http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/, the Wiki is toast.

But yeah, "oh shit" is a good way to describe this. ._.
    15. Arynis
I just noticed the Janime Wiki is gone in its entirety, which means... we lost everything. I never really knew when there was a definite shutdown date, and I admit I thought I could take my time with moving the pages...

      God, this is just...

Please tell me we backed up the data somewhere? :(
    16. Ryusaki
Haha, I'm sure you're capable of watching it again without getting dragged into the key of nebuchadnezzar mark VI third impact mari illustrious makinami eyepatch asuka damn it why can't Q come faster?

Yes, that little bit of awkwardness was a lot better when spoken by someone who wasn't apparently speaking English for the first time. Even if that pre-title sequence is still a little bit baffling.
    17. Ryusaki
I just picked up Rebuild 2.22 on Blu-Ray and watched through the dub. Just like Gurren Lagann, it's a very impressive dub -- unfortunately again for an anime with which there's very little point watching it outside of Japanese subbed. They did a great job with making a lot of stilted dialogue sound more natural, although in some points this sort of diminished the power of some of the more meaningful lines.

Gendo and Fuyutsuki kinda sound the same still though, and even Kaiji is pretty similar to them. I guess they were the voices I liked in the original dub.
    18. Ryusaki
I admit I haven't watched Cars. I just find it hard to believe that it could be good when I've never seen any kind of advert of promotional material for the movie that looked anything like being decent. I liked Monster Inc. better, but this trend of sequels and prequels is a little big worrying.
    19. Ryusaki
I always though Cars was a pretty terrible idea, and hoped that Cars 2 was some attempt to apologise for it, but I guess not. No, I haven't seen it and, to be honest, I don't plan on doing.
    20. Ryusaki
I don't think it's meant to be taken particularly seriously: it's a movie where the three heroes of YGO travel through time so they can stop a guy who's also travelling through time so that he can kill everyone's favourite character Pegasus but first for some reason he has to steal everyone's favourite dragon cards. It's just an excuse for cool music, the best animation YGO's ever seen, and 3D.

Going around the interwebz sprinkling retarded comments wherever I pass and CAPSING all over your everything. Also, old-ish rock music, all kinds of cartoons and making stupid shit no one in their right mind should care about.
